Brennan Johnson describes moment teammate Keinan Davis was punched during Leicester match

Nottingham Forest star Brennan Johnson has described the moment a violent Leicester fan ran onto the City Ground pitch and 'swung' a punch at teammate Keinan Davis.

A statement was read out in court from forward Johnson about what he saw when 19-year-old Foxes fan Cameron Toner attacked three Forest players who were celebrating their side's third goal during the FA Cup match between the sides earlier this month.

Johnson said he initially thought Toner was a Reds supporter who was joining in with the celebrations.

And he described the subsequent violence which ensued, as Toner swung for on-loan striker Davis.

Reading a statement at Nottingham Magistrates' Court from Johnson, prosecutor Sanjay Jerath said: “Whilst I was celebrating, I thought a Forest fan was joining us in celebrations. He tried to punch my team-mate Keinan Davis.

“He swung his left fist, which connected with Keinan Davis’ jaw.

“He pushed me to the chest area of my body. Soon after he pushed me, he was escorted away from the group and out of the ground.

“I didn’t give permission for anyone to attack me.”

In a statement, Davis described Toner throwing punches before Toner caught him to the right ear.

Davis said: "I became aware of Male 1 (referring to the defendant).

"He had a clenched fist and was throwing punches in the middle of players that formed."

Toner then threw punches towards Davis' face and "it hit my right ear", his statement read.

"I remember feeling shock about what happened and confused - how a man got on the pitch towards the players."

As he was walking off the pitch at half-time, Davis said: "I felt a pain to my head."
