Brendan Rodgers will see the real Rangers and Michael Beale will have Celtic boss-in-waiting on toast – Hotline

Celtic's wait over the appointment of a new manager continues but the Hotline has already rubber-stamped the return of Brendan Rodgers.

Fans from both sides of the Old Firm have had their say on the Irishman and some Ibrox fans would welcome him back to Glasgow with open arms. Hugh McInulty, Glasgow, said: "I don’t think I’ve ever been so disillusioned with the Celtic support. Wanting the club to go cap in hand back for a manager that did the dirty on us halfway through a season? If he’s the best on the list then get a new list. We’ve money and Champions League football so can’t believe the sacked Leicester manager is what fans are wanting. Still he did give us our worst results in Europe and dire possession football so it’s not all bad."

Rab Picken said: "I hope Celtic bring Rodgers back as Michael Beale will have him on toast as he will crumble under the challenge of a strong Rangers side he never faced in his last time at the club. He took Leicester from champs to chumps and will do the same to the other wee side in Glasgow on his return. But then again he might bottle the chance and go to a bigger club like Leeds who have the money Brendan desires."

Michael Emonds, Northampton, said: "Once again Hotline caller Jimmy Murray shows how little he knows about Celtic. He thinks that with Ange Postecoglou just out the door a few days and they are on the verge of signing a young Norwegian player means Peter Lawwell is in charge of recruitment. Doesn’t he think that Ange would have had some input into the scouting of the player just as he had in the recruitment of Stevie Hammell to a coaching position, or does he think Celtic employ all the staff they have when Lawwell can do it all on his own?"
