Brendan Rodgers outlines Leicester City's priority as Everton receive double injury boost

Brendan Rodgers did not hide that Leicester City’s Europa Conference League semi-final against Roma is now their priority after his side’s last-minute defeat to Newcastle.

City still harbour hopes of a challenge for a top-seven spot and European qualification through the Premier League but Bruno Guimaraes’ injury-time header made that task much harder for the remaining five weeks of the campaign. City are now 12 points back from West Ham with three games in hand.

Rodgers had made eight changes to his side from the victory at PSV Eindhoven on Thursday that had booked their spot in the Conference League last four, and while the manager said that in itself was not an indication that Europe is the focus, he did admit the Roma double-header starting at the end of the month now takes precedent.

Leicester City will travel to Goodison Park on Wednesday to face a bolstered Everton side.

Toffees manager Frank Lampard will be welcoming back defender Yerry Mina after a long injury lay-off. The former Barcelona man has had a difficult season with injuries, but was pictured back in training at the Merseyside club last week.

Midfielder Donny van de Beek will also be at Lampard's disposal, having been out of action since April 3. He could have returned from injury in their last game against Manchester United but was ineligible to play against his former club.
