Brendan Rodgers jokes Celtic transfer exit links would leave him with 5 A SIDE team as he shares O'Riley and Kyogo latest

Brendan Rodgers joked that if all the players linked with moves away from Celtic this week were true then he'd be picking a five-a-side team this weekend.

The Celtic boss has Matt O'Riley available for Sunday's trip to St Mirren for now, although a Scottish record breaking deal with Brighton is in the works and that could change. Leicester City have also been credited with an interest in Reo Hatate although Rodgers accepts that rumours will always be rife at this time of year and that he is working with a full compliment ahead of the trip to Paisley. "in terms of all the speculation and gossip over the last week or so, I'm preparing for a five-a-side game at the weekend!" He quipped.

"There's been so many players linked with going away but that's no different, there's nothing concrete. There's clearly interest in Matt and a number of the other players but at this moment in time, we're very clear and very focused on preparing for St Mirren and until I get told otherwise, that's exactly what we'll do. As I stand here now, live, then Matt is available for the weekend."

Man City are also reported to be weighing up a shock move for Kyogo. When pushed though, Rodgers confirmed there has been contact from the English champions, who have re-signed former captain Ilkay Gundogan on a one-year deal from Barcelona.

"No, none at all," Rodgers told Sky Sports. "As I said, it's that time of the season now where the guy's representatives get to work and the all the guys that create the market. So lots of speculation, lots of rumours and there will continue to be. But I do expect one or two to go out to get playing and hopefully coming in the other way to help us improve."
