Plumes of smoke can be seen for miles as fire crews tackle a blaze at an industrial estate in north Manchester. The fire is believed to have broken out on Clifton Street in Newton Heath around 4am this morning.
It is unclear at this stage how the fire broke out. Road closures are currently in place around the area.
Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service tweeted about the incident at 6am saying: "Firefighters are currently tackling a fire at two industrial buildings on Clifton Street, Manchester.
"Residents nearby are advised to keep their windows and doors closed. Road closures are also in place, so please avoid the area if possible."
