BREAKING: Scores of fire crews descend on primary school as roof goes up in flames - latest updates
Several fire crews have descended on a primary school in Bolton this morning after the roof of the building went up in flames.
Greater Manchester Fire Service have confirmed they are at the scene of a school on Newport Road, believed to be SS Simon and Jude CE Primary School.
Crews have been at the scene since 8.30am this morning (August 17). It's not clear if anyone was inside the building when the blaze broke out, or if anyone has been injured.

Greater Manchester Police and the North West Ambulance Service have been approached for more information.
Pictures seen by the Manchester Evening News show a number of fire engines stationed outside the school with crews using hose reels to douse the flames.
It's understood the fire broke out in the roof space of the school hall. Road closures remain in place this morning.
