BREAKING: Rangers qualify for the Champions League thanks to PSV's defensive howler
Rangers have qualified for the group stage of the Champions League for the first time since 2011/12 after beating PSV Eindhoven 1-0 away from home.
The two sides played out a 2-2 thriller at Ibrox in the first leg, which set the second instalment of the tie up perfectly.
And it was Rangers who delivered on the night in Eindhoven, with Antonio Colak’s second half goal enough to secure a place in the club football’s biggest competition.
Gio van Bronckhorst’s side were exceptional throughout the match, although their goal certainly had an element of luck about it.
On the hour mark, André Ramalho Silva surrendered possession on the edge of his own box with a rather dodgy first touch, Malik Tilman the man nicking the ball right off his opponent’s feet.
The midfielder, who is on loan from Bayern Munich, then squared it to Colak, who tapped into an empty net from a few yards out to send the passionate fans in the away end absolutely wild.
It certainly was a moment to forget for young Ramalho, one that will likely haunt him for quite some time…
