BREAKING: Police scene in Harpurhey following serious incident - latest updates
A police scene is in place in Harpurhey following reports of a serious incident. Officers and paramedics are understood to have been scrambled to Tavistock Square this evening (Friday, September 15).
The Manchester Evening News understands emergency services descended on the scene shortly after 6pm. It follows reports of an altercation took place involving a group.
North West Ambulance Service has confirmed it attended the scene this evening. An ambulance, two rapid response vehicles and a consultant paramedic attended the scene.

The nature of the incident is not yet clear.
Witnesses reported an altercation, but this has not yet been confirmed. The Manchester Evening News has contacted Greater Manchester Police and the North West Ambulance Service for comment.

Harpurhey councillor Pat Karney has noted there has been knife crime in the area recently - however, the nature of the incident has yet to be confirmed.
