BREAKING: All trains blocked between Manchester and Leeds - latest updates
Railway passengers are facing disruption this morning after a 'safety inspection' halted trains running between Manchester and Leeds.
The inspection is taking place on track in Brighouse, West Yorkshire, TransPennine Express (TPE) said on Sunday (September 17). It means services cannot from Leeds to Manchester Piccadilly or Manchester Victoria stations.
Services have been stopped heading both east-west and west-east. It is not yet known how long the issue will plague the rails, but TPE said in a post on X, formerly Twitter, it 'expects that this will be an ongoing issue throughout the day'.
