Brandon Stone on a roll with 66 at Ras al Khaimah Championship

Johannesburg - South Africa’s Brandon Stone fired a superb opening six-under 66 in the first round of the Ras al Khaimah Championship at Al Hamra GC, in the United Arab Emirates, on Thursday.

The solid effort of the three-time DP World Tour (DPWT) event winner saw him share third place with American Johannes Veerman and Belgian Thomas Detry. Leading the way on seven-under 65 are the pair of Sebastian Heisele of Germany and Scotland’s Scott Jamieson.

Beginning his round on the 10th, Stone found his first birdie of the day at the par four 13th. The 28-year-old picked up another shot at the par four 16th.
