Boy, 16, taken to hospital after attack near Trafford Centre

A boy was taken to hospital with a 'laceration' wound after an attack near the Trafford Centre on Easter Monday.

Police officers were called to the scene at around 6.25pm last night (April 18). A spokesperson for the force said they received a report of an 'assault' near the shopping centre.

A 16-year-old was taken to hospital from the scene. Police said he suffered a 'laceration'.

He remains in hospital for treatment on the wound. Any witnesses or anyone with information about the attack is being urged to contact Greater Manchester Police.

In a statement, a force spokesperson said: "At around 6.25pm on Monday 18 April 2022, we received a report of an assault near the Trafford Centre. A 16-year-old boy was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition as he receives treatment for a small wound.

"Anyone with information should contact police via gmp.police.uk or 101 quoting 2388 18/04/22. Information can be shared anonymously via the independent charity - Crimestoppers on 08000 555 111."

The Manchester Evening News has approached a representative of the Trafford Centre for a comment.
