Boy, 13, from Fallowfield arrested on suspicion of murdering Kennie Carter

A 13-year-old boy from Fallowfield has been arrested on suspicion of murdering Kennie Carter.

Kennie, 16, died after being stabbed in the chest in Stretford on January 22.

The latest arrest is the 11th made by Greater Manchester Police (GMP) in connection to the incident.

Seven teenagers - aged between 13 and 17 - had already been arrested on suspicion of murder and remain on conditional bail.

Three other teenage boys who were arrested have since been eliminated from the inquiry.

GMP confirmed that the Major Incident Team has spoken to over 50 people, compiled more than 100 hours of CCTV and carried out almost a dozen warrants.

"An 11th teenager has been arrested on suspicion of the murder of 16-year-old Kennie Carter," a GMP spokesman said.

"Kennie died in hospital on Saturday 22 January after suffering a fatal wound to the chest following a reported stabbing in Stretford.

"Seven teenagers - aged between 13 and 17 - have already been arrested on suspicion of murder and remain on bail with conditions after being interviewed by investigators from our Major Incident Team.
