BOWFT 2023: Edo Queens win again, FC Robo hit Heartland 3-1

Edo Queens continued their impressive unbeaten run in the third Betsy Obaseki Women Football Tournament (BOWFT), securing a 2-1 victory over Ogun State-based Remo Stars Ladies at the UNIBEN Sports Complex, Benin City.

Remo Stars Ladies kicked off the game in a formidable manner, as Arubo Oluwaseyi netted an early goal in the 15th minute, propelling them to a 1-0 lead over Edo Queens. However, Edo Queens’ Abideen Suliat swiftly responded with an equaliser in the 41st minute just before the halftime whistle.

In the second half, Edo Queens raised their game and earned a penalty kick, which was expertly converted by Suliat Abideen in the 90th minute of the game.

Esther Moses of Edo Queens won the Most Valuable Player of the match award.

In the second game of Match Day 4 held at the same venue, FC Robo of Lagos beat Heartland Ladies FC of Owerri 3-1.
