Bosch leads MI Cape Town charge to SA20 playoffs in massive win over Sunrisers
Corbin Bosch's brilliant spell with the ball led MI Cape Town to the SA20 playoffs as they secured a commanding bonus-point win against the Sunrisers Eastern Cape at Newlands on Wednesday.
Chasing a mere 108 runs to win, the sold-out Newlands faithful were treated once again as MI Cape Town claimed a 10-wicket victory over the title holders.
With the sun setting at Newlands, MI Cape Town's in-form opening pair of Rassie van der Dussen and Ryan Rickelton put on a powerful hitting display as they easily chased the target.
It took them four overs to bring up the 50-run partnership for the hosts with the duo knocking the stuffing out of the Sunrisers' bowling attack.
The Sunrisers struggled to break the devastating pair who shared a 110-run opening stand.
Van der Dussen kicked on alongside Rickelton as he scored 48 off 30 balls not out (hitting four fours and two sixes).
Rickelton brought up his third SA20 half-century of the season, scoring a quick-fire 59 off 36 balls (hitting eight fours and a six), and went on to hit a boundary as MI Cape Town cruised to victory with 54 balls to spare.
