Borussia Dortmund boss Marco Rose tells Man City that Erling Haaland can get even better

Erling Haaland can get even better when he moves to Manchester City, his Borussia Dortmund manager has said.

Haaland has been long-rumoured to be leaving Dortmund this summer, with his well-publicised release clause alerting most of Europe's biggest clubs to his availability. City announced on Tuesday that they have won the race for the Norwegian sensation, who will play his final Dortmund game on Saturday in their last-day home clash with Hertha Berlin.

Previewing that game, Dortmund boss Marco Rose was defiant as he insisted the club will continue to develop players and challenge for the Bundesliga title. He also offered City an encouraging outlook on Haaland's future prospects.

"We won't stop playing football after Erling leaves us," Rose said. "He decided to take his next step with City and we wish him all the best.

"He gave us goals, energy, he is a player who always wants to win. I think he still can improve. He is still young. We will meet again. I hope we will meet again.

With key figures on and off the field set to leave Dortmund after Saturday's game,

"It is our last game of the season and it is at home and we want to win it. Players and officials will bid farewell but I expect from everyone a good and focused performance," he said.

"We want to give it all, get the three points and play a good game."
