Bolton Wanderers vs Portsmouth LIVE: Early team news, build-up, match updates and reaction

Bolton Wanderers return to action for the second time in the space of four days when they host Portsmouth this evening.

Wanderers picked up a point on the road over the weekend as they came from behind against rivals Wigan Athletic and will be seeking all three when they return home for the 8pm kick-off versus Pompey.

This is Bolton's second game in the space of eight days, with the result of this one and the weekend hosting of Sheffield Wednesday to have a big say on the outcome of their season.

This evening's game has been rearranged due to the international break as both teams had players called up for their countries when the fixture was originally due to be played at the end of March.

It is an encounter between two sides sitting midtable in League One with both sides sitting 11 points from the play-offs, with both sides harbouring now slim hopes of reaching the top six by the end of April.

Danny Cowley's side have two games in hand over Bolton and, like Ian Evatt's men, will realistically need maximum rewards from their remaining encounters if they are to have a chance of making the play-offs.

We'll be live throughout the evening at the University of Bolton Stadium to bring you all the build-up, team news, match action and reaction as Wanderers seek three points at home to keep their slim play-off hopes alive.

Influential midfielder Kieran Lee is poised to not be involved tonight and will be given more time to recover from heel spur surgery which has kept him out since February.

Lee had successful surgery on the problem which had been causing him discomfort.

But Wanderers do not want to rush him back to action and risk him breaking down again for the final furlong of the campaign, as Ian Evatt explains here.
