Bolton Wanderers vs Leeds United U21s LIVE: Build-up, early team news, match updates & reaction

Bolton Wanderers are in Papa Johns Trophy action this evening when they take on Leeds United's under-21s.

The Whites return to the University of Bolton Stadium for the second time in the space of four days. After Saturday's goalless draw against Barnsley, Bolton take on Leeds' young guns this evening.

Wanderers currently sit top of the Northern Group B of the Papa Johns Trophy. It follows a victory over Crewe Alex and a penalty shootout defeat following a draw last month versus Tranmere Rovers.

A win this evening will see the Whites book their place in the next round of the competition. But it will not prove to be an easy task after Leeds beat Tranmere 5-3 earlier this month.

The other two teams in the group, Crewe and Tranmere, take on one another this evening too. The likely finishing positions and qualification to the next round could be all be decided this evening.

As well as a chance to reach the next round, it gives Wanderers a chance to break their duck in front of goal which has persisted for the past three games in League One. It also gives the Whites a chance to give minutes to players in the squad.

We'll be live throughout the evening to cover events at the UniBol. We've have all the build-up, team news, match updates and reaction from Ian Evatt to see if Wanderers can seal qualification to the next round of the competition.
