Bolton Wanderers player ratings vs Salford City - Jones, Lee, Kachunga & Bodvarsson good in win

Joel Dixon - 7.5

Good early stop from Matt Smith's header and composed throughout when coming to claim aerial deliveries. Denied Conor McAleny after the break. A solid display throughout.

Gethin Jones - 8

Captain for the evening and looked good on the right hand side of the back three, getting forward well to put in crosses which caused problems for the Ammies.

Will Aimson - 7.5

Slotted in the middle of defence in place of Ricardo Santos. Aside from the odd stray pass out early on, made several deceny

George Johnston - 7

Struggled a bit at times with the bright Brandon Thomas-Asante, but otherwise a good performance on the left of the back three.

Kieran Sadlier - 7.5

Made a much greater impact after the break with crossing improving and took goal well to ensure Wanderers' place in the second round was beyond doubt.

MJ Williams - 7.5

Reliable in possession in the middle of the park throughout the encounter. Replaced towards the end by Nelson Khumbeni.

George Thomason - 6.5

Went very close to scoring Bolton's third early in the second half. Had a good evening overall but shown straight red card for needless late challenge.

Declan John - 6.5

Got forward well and had plenty of crosses in the box throughout. Did not emerge after the break and was replaced by Jack Iredale.

Kieran Lee - 8

Replaced Dapo Afolayan in the number 10 role after being an unused substitute over the weekend. Bright on the ball and alert for the equalising goal to tee up Kachunga before adding second assist for Afolayan.

Elias Kachunga - 8

Did well to hold off his marker to head Wanderers level midway through the first half. Grabbed an assist before the break with good low cross for Bodvarsson to slot home. Caused problems for Salford throughout.
