Bolton Wanderers player ratings vs Port Vale - Manchester City loanee James Trafford & Jack Iredale good

James Trafford - 8

Some big saves from the Manchester City loanee, particualrly after the break and none more so from Ellis Harrison's header with a brilliant parry to keep Wanderers in the game.

Gethin Jones - 7.5

Vice-captain was solid on the far right hand side of defence. Was not able to get forward much, particularly after Santos red card, but decent shift defensively.

Ricardo Santos - 5.5

Booked early doors for pushing over Nathan Smith from a corner, and had been spoken to by referee Ross Joyce before sending off. Soft yellow card for dismissal ultimately after Ellis Harrison went down near the halfway line in an apparant dive.

George Johnston - 8

Put in block after block and made countless challenges to snuff out attacks from the hosts. Another impressive showing from the young defender.

Conor Bradley - 7

Another impressive showing from the Liverpool loanee both defensively and going forwards in the first half. Didn't quite have the same impact after the break and was taken off.

Kyle Dempsey - 7

Energetic and hardworking performance in central midfield from former Gillingham man. Taken off before the end.

MJ Williams - 7

Generally solid in the middle of the park during the encounter but was booked towards the start of the second half.

Aaron Morley - 7.5

Good use of the ball as has come to be expected from classy midfielder. Was denied brilliant opening goal by Jack Stevens' reflexes in the second half.

Jack Iredale - 8

Was on corner duty at times and impressed throughout with his attacking and defensive display as he continues his impressive start to life to Wanderers. Showed great defensive skills to snuff out threats.

Dapo Afolayan - 7

Had early effort saved well by Jack Stevens which could have put visitors
