Bolton defender on dressing room conversations after losses & what Wanderers must improve on road

Gethin Jones believes Bolton Wanderers must improve their concentration on the road to pick up points in their quest to challenge for promotion out of League One this campaign.

Wanderers have lost their last two games in the division, which were both away from home in Gloucestershire. The Whites suffered narrow 1-0 losses at the hands of Cheltenham Town and Forest Green Rovers.

Three of Bolton's four losses this season in League One have been away from home. Wanderers sit third in the home table for the division so far as they have made the University of Bolton Stadium into a fortress.

However, they sit 17th in the standings for away points on the board this campaign. It is an area Wanderers must improve upon and Jones believes concentration is the main factor which must get better on their travels and help transform their home form to away as well.

He said: "I think concentration, it’s a massive thing. When we play at home, it’s exactly the way we want to play. We know we’re going to get chances in the game because the pitch is so big, we can play our own stuff, and when you go away from home, it’s a tighter pitch and you might only get one or two chances through the whole game.

“It’s being concentrated defensively and the attackers as well to take their chances. We as defenders might only give away one chance the whole game and like we said on Forest Green on Saturday, I think they had only two chances, one when Traff (James Trafford) has bailed us out and then Connor Wickham scored.
