Bolton boss makes Shola Shoretire prediction after Man United youngster's difficult loan spell

Bolton Wanderers manager Ian Evatt has tipped Shola Shoretire to enjoy a "really good future" despite a difficult loan spell with the League One outfit.

Manchester United youngster Shoretire joined Bolton on loan in January - his first move away from the Reds since joining aged nine. The 19-year-old enjoyed plenty of minutes during his first two months at the University of Bolton Stadium but was dropped after a string of underwhelming performances.

However, the versatile forward ended the regular season on a high note, returning for a first start in 10 games to score his first goal for Wanderers in a 3-2 win over Bristol Rovers, pouncing on a loose ball in the box to fire home the opener on 24 minutes.

Evatt made several changes to the side, with a place in the play-offs already confirmed. The Bolton boss was impressed by Shoretire's return and predicted a bright future for the teenager.

"He's a young player with an immense amount of talent," Evatt told Bolton's YouTube channel. "He is a young player so there's always dips, there's highs and lows, but he's going to have a really good future in the game and it's the first of many for him."

Bolton ended the campaign in fifth, setting up a play-off semi-final clash with Barnsley. Victory would see them head to Wembley to play either Sheffield Wednesday or Peterborough in the League One play-off final later this month.
