Bolton Beer Festival returns to the town for its 28th year with hundreds of drinks on offer

Bolton Beer Festival is returning for a 28th year, with more than 220 different drinks to sample. The annual event welcomes thousands of visitors to the University of Bolton Stadium every year as beer aficionados queue up to try the festival's vast array of real ales, lagers and ciders.

For those who are not as much into beer or cider, there is also a wide selections of gin, wine and Prosecco on the menu. During the festival, tokens are used to pay for drinks and these can be bought alongside tickets or on the night itself. Ticketholders will also be handed a Bolton Beer Festival pint glass and a programme with a list of drinks.

There will also be live musical performances each night of the festival - which runs from Thursday October 13 to Saturday October 15. On the Thursday, Luke McColl will play, with The Govans and The Pedal Tones taking to the stage on Saturday and Sunday respectively.

Bolton Beer Festival raises money for local children and young person’s charity Bolton Lads and Girls Club, with £70,000 raised during last year's event . Kelly McFadden, head of fundraising at Bolton Lads and Girls Club, said: “The Beer Festival has become a staple event in so many people’s calendars. In 2021 the Beer Festival raised a record breaking £70,000 for the Club, which we were absolutely over the moon with.

"It is the biggest social event in the Bolton calendar, and we are delighted that we are able to return this year, and we look forward to welcoming everyone safely to the festival. The services of our charity are needed now more than ever, all the money raised will go back into the core services at the club. As always, we are so grateful
