Bologna 1-0 Inter Milan: Riccardo Orsolini stuns Simone Inzaghi's side as Napoli edge closer to Serie A title

Inter Milan's faint Scudetto hopes suffered a blow after a poor display to lose 1-0 away to Bologna. The in-form hosts dominated the first half and had a goal by Musa Barrow disallowed by VAR for offside while Roberto Soriano's effort struck the crossbar. Ad The Nerazzurri, who handed rare starts to Romelu Lukaku and Marcelo Brozovic, were below-par with their passing and their best chance fell to Lautaro Martinez who headed wide.

The visitors brought on Edin Dzeko, Nicola Barella and Danilo D'Ambrosio around the hour mark. Former Manchester City strike Dzeko nearly made an instant impact with a volley which was saved.

But it was D'Ambrosio who was at fault for the winning goal after losing possession which led to Riccardo Orsolini smashing a half-volley into the roof of the net. The result sees Simone Inzaghi's side remain second, 18 points behind runaway Serie A leaders Napoli, while Bologna climb up to seventh place. It was at this venue last season where Inter's title challenge collapsed after a 2-1 defeat which led to rivals AC Milan eventually winning the Scudetto. And it was the case again with their six-match unbeaten run ended by a below-par performances with the changes to the XI not paying off. They need a miracle now with Napoli so far ahead and flying in Serie A.
