Boks v Wales: Georgian referee in the spotlight at Loftus
Georgian referee Nika Amashukeli will be in charge of Saturday's Test between the Springboks and Wales at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria.
Amashukeli, who was confirmed as the referee back in April, will be assisted by Australia's Angus Gardner and Italy's Andrew Piardi. Ireland's Joy Neville will be on television match official (TMO) duty.
The officials will hope Saturday's assignment is without controversy, as the standard of refereeing had been in the spotlight during the United Rugby Championship.
Who is Nika Amashukeli?
Amashukeli, who is only 27, was a decent rugby player himself, having played outside centre for Georgia at under-17, under-18 and under-19 levels.
However, at age 20, he had already suffered five concussions and had broken an ankle and suffered a knee issues.
The head knocks affected his mental health which prompted him to make the move to refereeing instead.
Saturday's Test kicks off at 17:05.
