Bohemians name Alan Reynolds as new manager

Alan Reynolds has been confirmed as new Bohemians manager, succeeding Declan Devine with immediate effect.

Reynolds has been serving as assistant to ex-Bohs manager Keith Long at Waterford FC and Jim Crawford with the Republic of Ireland U21 side.

He managed Waterford between 2017 and 2020, guiding them to promotion in his first season in charge and a fourth-placed finish in the Premier Division in 2018. He also worked as assistant to Ruaidhrí Higgins at Derry City, winning the FAI Cup in 2022.

Before taking over at Waterford, Reynolds worked as assistant at Cork City and St Patrick's Athletic, and also had a spell as a coach at Shelbourne.

"This is a massive club with a passionate fan base," said Reynolds.

"I went to the Aviva Stadium when Bohs were on the European run in 2021. There were 8,000 Bohs fans at the game because if Covid, but it felt like there was 30,000. That has always stuck with me. The fans were unbelievable, and the team responded. That’s what we want to achieve here again."

Reynolds has already worked with some of the Bohemians players during his time with the Ireland Under-21s and he's eager to link up with them again.

"To work with some of the talented young players at the club - the likes of James McManus and James Clarke
