Bohemians back on track against struggling UCD

Junior Ogedi-Uzokwe scored for the third match running to get Bohemians back on track following last week's humbling to arch-rivals Shamrock Rovers.

Dawson Devoy and Promise Omochere added further goals to give the Gypsies only their second home win of the campaign - though it's now just now defeat in six for Keith Long’s side.

It was 13 minutes before the scrappy start to the game delivered its first opening, and one Bohemians should have taken the lead from.

Slick interplay from Dawson Devoy and skipper Conor Levingston threaded Junior through on goal. Lorcan Healy was out promptly to get his body in the way of the striker’s shot from a tight angle.

Following a lull in play, Liam Burt raised a cheer of expectation on 26 minutes, volleying wide after Junior had chested Jordan Doherty’s long ball into his path.

The Londoner would make amends a minute before the interval, though, to give Bohemians their deserved lead.

Burt orchestrated the chance, skipping past a defender to get off a low drive. Healy couldn’t hold the shot which spilled out invitingly for the in-rushing Junior who scooped the loose ball to the net.

Burt’s influence was maintained into the second half, a meandering solo run ending with his crisp drive arrowing just wide of Healy’s right-hand post eight minutes in.
