Bobby Madden has delivered his verdict on six big decisions from a blockbuster midweek card in Scotland's top flight.
The action kicked off on Tuesday night with Kris Boyd left raging in the Sky Sports studio as he exploded over the failure to award St Mirren a penalty and aimed a blast at the SFA. Five games took centre stage on Wednesday night and the drama continued. John Lundstram was punished for a handball with Danny Armstrong making no mistake from 12-yards at Rugby Park with the away side also making two claims in the second period against Stuart Findlay and Lewis Mayo. Richard Jensen was punished for handball in Aberdeen's loss to St Johnstone as Neil Warnock's troubles continue while Kenneth Vargas was awarded a spot-kick with VAR recommending a second viewing to whistler Kevin Clancy. But he stuck by his call with Lawrence Shankland blasting home.
It was a night of goals, drama and key talkers with former SPFL referee Madden on hand to try to deliver clarity on the main incidents by using his expert opinion to explain each call from his point of view on his Instagram account.
"Easy to understand the live decision due to where arm position finishes. At the point of contact the arm is tight to the body and the defender does not make themselves unnaturally bigger. Difficult to understand why an on field review wasn’t suggested and a still of the point of contact presented to the referee. If I can identify that image on my phone, VAR should be able to find it with a system that’s costing the clubs well over a million a year."
