BMW ROKiT MB Motorsport's Jake Hill claims second win of British Touring Car Championship season at Knockhill to close in on leaders

Jake Hill is back in championship contention after his second win of the British Touring Car Championship season at Knockhill in what he described as his "best-ever weekend".

The Platt's Heath racer took pole position for race one and turned it into victory as well as returning to the podium in races two and three for a mammoth 58 points. He also set two fastest laps.

Hill, racing for BMW ROKiT MB Motorsport, now sits fourth in the standings - 14 points off top spot.

“I don’t know quite where to start after that," Hill said. "It’s the best weekend I’ve ever had in the BTCC and I owe so much to the whole team.

"The car has been fantastic all weekend, they’ve given me everything possible and I am so happy that I could make it count for them and everyone at ROKiT MB Motorsport.

"We’ve made a massive stride in the championship but this has to set the standard now, we’ve got to keep pushing because it is all to play for.”

"I have always loved racing at Knockhill and that is even truer now. The place has been packed today with so many fans and the atmosphere has been fantastic.

"On the team side of things, we have had some mega support from all our loyal partners who have travelled long distances to be here. I'm really pleased to have given them something to shout about and thank all of them as always!"

The tone for the weekend was set on Saturday when Hill took pole by more than two-tenths of a second at the 1.27-mile track.

He was pushed hard by reigning champion Ash Sutton in the early stages and fell behind the Motorbase Performance car in the opening laps.

However as his tyres came to life, Hill and Sutton traded places before he made the move stick on the exit of turn one before pulling away from the field.
