Blue Jackets' Johnny Gaudreau, brother confirmed dead
American hockey star Johnny Gaudreau and his brother Matthew have died after an "unimaginable tragedy," the Columbus Blue Jackets confirmed in a social media post on Friday.
The team confirmed the death of the brothers in a post on X, formerly Twitter, but no other details surrounding the incident have been released.

NHL commissioner Gary Bettman also released a statement about Johnny Gaudreau's passing, saying that "he was more than just a dazzling hockey player; he was a doting father and beloved husband, son, brother and teammate who endeared himself to every person fortunate enough to have crossed his path."
Johnny Gaudreau was 31.
