Blaenavon fire: Huge blaze at Gilchrist Thomas Industrial Estate - latest updates

A huge fire has broken out on an industrial estate in South Wales. Police have warned people to avoid an area of Blaenavon, between Pontypool and Abergavenny, as emergency services tackle the blaze.

Shortly before midnight this morning, Gwent Police said that officers are dealing with a large blaze on the Gilchrist Thomas Industrial Estate and are urging everyone to keep clear of the area. The industrial estate has a wide range of commercial properties and industrial units.

Unconfirmed reports say that the blaze is sweeping through the a Caravan Repair Centre on the estate. The cause is currently unknown.

Gwent Police said in a tweet: "Officers are dealing with a large fire on the Gilchrist Thomas Industrial Estate, Blaenavon. Please avoid the area."
