Blackwood High Street closed after crash in early hours - latest updates

The main road through a town in the South Wales Valleys is closed this morning after a crash in early hours. The emergency services have been at Blackwood High Street since around 5am.

In a short statement issued on social media. Gwent Police said: "Emergency services are dealing with a road traffic collision on the High Street, Blackwood.

"The road is closed and diversions are in place, which may cause congestion. Please avoid the area if possible and find alternative routes for your journey. Take care."
