Blackburn Rovers facing fresh behind the scenes exit

Blackburn Rovers‘ head of recruitment John Park is set to leave the club this summer, a report from The Sun has claimed.

Park joined the Championship club in the role last summer, a move that saw him reunite with manager Tony Mowbray, who he has previously worked with at Celtic.

Mowbray though, has left Ewood Park following the expiry of his contract at the end of the 2021/22 season, and it now seems Park could be set to follow him.

According to this latest update, Park is also set to leave the Lancashire club, when his own deal with Rovers expires this summer.

It is thought that the transfer guru was reluctant to stay at Blackburn following the departure of Mowbray, and it has been suggested that he will not be short of offers from elsewhere.

Park will not be the only backroom figure to leave the club this summer, with the likes of assistant manager Mark Venus and Head of Athletic Performance Liam Mason having already moved elsewhere.

The Verdict

This feels like something of a considerable blow for Blackburn right now.

With a number of players moving on this summer, and the club still searching for Mowbray’s replacement, the pressure is going to be on them when they finally get going in the transfer window.

As a result, losing your main man in charge of transfers now feels like rather bad timing, since it is not going to make things any easier when it comes to bringing players in.

Indeed, with a number of behind the scenes individuals on their way out of the club, it seems there will be plenty of work to do for Blackburn both on and off the pitch in the next few months.
