Jordan James’ remarkable Birmingham City breakthrough has seen the teenager reach yet another landmark. The 17-year-old, who has more than held his own in Blues’ midfield this season, has earned a first call up for the England Under 20s.
James came into the campaign hoping to break into Blues’ Under 23s but has instead played 18 times for Lee Bowyer ’s first team. He also added his maiden goal in the 2-2 draw with Stoke City last month.
And now, having played his age group football for Wales, he has been called into Andy Edwards’group and will face Poland in Bielsko-Biala on Friday, March 25 and Germany at Colchester United’s JobServe Community Stadium on Tuesday, March 29.
Blues fans are obviously delighted but they could be a little concerned too.

Swansea City are one player short of a full squad for the visit of Birmingham City on Saturday (3pm kick-off). The suspended Ryan Manning is serving the third match of his four-game ban and will miss the game.
