Birmingham City favourite breaks his silence on return to club
Former Birmingham City goalkeeper Maik Taylor has spoken about his return to the club as a goalkeeping coach.
The fans' favourite had two stints at St Andrew's during his playing career - the first on loan during the 2003/04 season before signing permanently from Fulham the following year. He went on to spend eight years at the club, making 240 appearances.
Upon retiring in 2013, he began his coaching career with the Northern Ireland national team, and then took up a similar role at Walsall. John Eustace, who was announced as the new Blues head coach on a three-year deal after replacing Lee Bowyer, has now named Taylor as one of his backroom staff.
The 50-year-old wrote on Twitter: "Absolutely delighted for the opportunity to come back to Birmingham City. Tough season ahead but very excited to get to work. #KRO."
