Billy Joe Saunders mocks Chris Eubank Jr's victory over Liam Williams with 'baby giraffe' jibe

Billy Joe Saunders wasn’t impressed by Chris Eubank Jr‘s middleweight clash with Liam Williams.

Eubank Jr and Williams, 32 and 29 respectively, continued the age-old rivalry of England versus Wales in a ‘Battle of Britain’ at the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff last weekend.

The Brighton boxer came out the contest victorious courtesy of a unanimous decision, but his showboating antics didn’t impress his fellow Brit.

And the 32-year-old claims that Eubank is trying too hard to ‘imitate the style of the great Roy Jones Jr‘.

Saunders told iFL TV: “When Eubank can outbox somebody, that’s when you know you’ve had a bad night.

“His boxing ability is like a baby giraffe just been born come out.

“It was terrible. I mean to try and imitate the style of the great Roy Jones Jr… I don’t know what it is. It’s not even boxing is it to be fair.”

Saunders doesn’t believe Eubank has shown any improvements if at all from the last time they fought in November 2014.

He narrowly outpointed his domestic rival to inflict his first professional defeat while defending his British, Commonwealth and European middleweight titles.

And he reckons he will get found again the minute he fights a higher-level opponent like himself.

He continued: “I give credit to everybody. He can take credit from that. But realistically Liam has boxed for a world title, Liam has achieved more than him, I know Eubank won the IBO or whatever it is, but realistically you can’t really class that.

“I do give him credit obviously because whoever gets in the ring, boxes and comes away with the win, you’ve got to give someone credit.
