Billy Gilmour fires back at Norwich critics as Scotland star mounts injury comeback ahead of World Cup push

Defiant Billy Gilmour admits there's nothing he can do about the section of the Norwich support who singled him out earlier in the season.

But the Scotland star is out to prove the boo boys wrong now and help the Canaries stay up now he's back fighting fit.

The 20-year-old has had a frustrating time on loan at Carrow Road so far. He failed to impress former manager Daniel Farke, and was later unfairly blasted by a frustrated home support - with some fans even telling him to "f*** off back to Chelsea."

Gilmour persevered through it and won the faith of new boss Dean Smith - only for injury to rear its head in the new year and keep him out for a month.

But he made his return to the pitch against Crystal Palace and last night made his first start in the 4-0 defeat to Manchester City on Saturday evening.
