Bigger and better than ever, Manchester Day has something for the whole family to enjoy this Father's Day

After its absence from the streets of Manchester due to the pandemic, Manchester Day is back this June. Make Father’s Day 2022 one to remember by taking a trip into the city centre and joining in with the celebrations on Sunday, June 19.

Manchester City Council have collaborated with youth and community groups across the city, as well as outdoor arts specialists Walk the Plank, to help celebrate this year's theme - 'Our Year'- a year long celebration of children and young people throughout Manchester.

From 11am-5pm, three of the city's squares will be filled with free, family friendly activities for everyone to enjoy. From youth markets to street food, there are plenty of exciting ways to help celebrate all things Mancunian this Manchester Day.

From street dance and soulful acoustic sets, to urban positive rapping, Piccadilly Gardens will be transformed into an inclusive space. Young people from across Manchester have programmed an epic day of sounds, moves and more. Visitors can also enjoy a range of food and drinks stalls, and get their picture taken at the graffiti or Instagram wall.

This year, Cathedral Gardens will come alive with entertainment for all ages this Manchester Day. Try your hand at circus skills, feel the beat with live dance and music, and be entertained as you explore the food and drink stalls on offer. Meet the Climate Change Mythbuster and debunk some popular myths about what we can do in the face of the climate emergency.

Explore exciting, sponsor led activities and discover the Manchester Letters, a magnificent installation of human sized love letters to the city, created by three local artists and Manchester People in 2021 as part of the Thank You Manchester Weekender.

The highlight of the day
