Biggar back at No 10 as Wales make 13 changes for Springboks Test

Wales coach Warren Gatland has made 13 changes to his starting XV for Saturday's Rugby World Cup warm-up against South Africa in Cardiff.

Liam Williams and Dan Lydiate are the only survivors in the starting XV that lost 19-17 to England at Twickenham last weekend.

In the backline, experienced flyhalf Dan Biggar starts after two appearances off the bench so far this month. He combines with scrumhalf Kieran Hardy, who pulled out of last weekend's matchday 23 due to family reasons.

Winger Alex Cuthbert and centre Johnny Williams make their first appearances this season.

Teddy Williams and Cai Evans, named among the replacements, are in line to win their first senior Wales caps.

Jac Morgan, who starts at openside flanker, will captain Wales for the second time. Dan Lydiate (blindside flanker) and Aaron Wainwright (No 8) join Morgan to complete the loose trio.

Elliot Dee (hooker) starts his first match this August, with Corey Domachowski (loosehead prop) and Keiron Assiratti (tighthead prop) winning their second caps and completing the front row.

Ben Carter and Will Rowlands pair up in the second row.

Mason Grady also makes his first start this August, partnering Williams in midfield. Liam Williams is named at fullback for the second consecutive match, while left winger Rio Dyer completes the Wales starting line-up.

On the bench, Tomos Williams and Max Llewellyn feature alongside Evans as backline cover.

Sam Parry, Nicky Smith and Henry Thomas will provide front row cover and Taine Basham, who was not a confirmed concussion following completion of all three stages of the head injury assessment (HIA) protocol, provides the loose forward cover.

Basham was on the receiving end of a dangerous tackle from England captain Owen Farrell.
