Big Brother fans issue complaint as ITV introduces major change to iconic house

A brand new series of Big Brother launches on ITV this weekend, five years since it last graced our screens.

Channel 5 axed the reality show following a slump in ratings in 2018. It's set to return for a new era, fronted by TV stars AJ Odudu and Will Best, this Sunday (October 8).

Ahead of the launch, Ben Arnold gave eager fans a first-look at the new Big Brother garden on Friday morning's edition (October 6) of Good Morning Britain. But viewers are complaining already after the GMB presenter revealed a major change is being made to the iconic property.

Standing outside in the garden, Richard was welcomed to the iconic house by the original voice of Marcus Bentley. The GMB correspondent was unable to show anything which was inside the house and was told not to divulge anything about the bedrooms and how many beds there, as it would give away the number of contestants.

Teasing what fans can expect to see from the new house, he added: "The living area is absolutely vast. There are two huge sofas, it’s the biggest communal area that I’ve ever seen in a Big Brother house over the years.”

Teasing about the diary room, one of the most iconic parts of the house, he added: "The diary room is a sight to behold, it's the biggest chair that I’ve ever seen.”

But Richard also revealed that the legendary smoking area - which has seen huge arguments, hilarious discussions and wholesome moments over the years - will be entirely off-camera. Rather than a large, open area with seating, this year's smoking area looks as though it might only fit one person.
