"Big blow" - Journalist now drops major Leeds United concern facing Andrea Radrizzani

Leeds United losing the likes of Kalvin Phillips, Raphinha and Patrick Bamford for small fees this summer would be a “big blow”, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.

Reports suggest that players of the Yorkshire club have relegation clauses in their contracts, meaning the above trio could all depart in cut-price deals should the team drop back down to the Championship.

According to the Daily Mail, Leeds are facing a potential exodus of their stars this summer if they get relegated.

The outlet states that key players, including Phillips, Raphinha and Bamford, have clauses in their current deals that could see them leave Elland Road for around £30m each should the above happen.

Transfermarkt values the trio at £103.5m, but you suspect that Leeds can get more than that if they stay up.

It was only back in January when they reportedly turned down a £50m offer for Phillips from Premier League rivals West Ham.

O’Rourke has told GIVEMESPORT that Leeds and Andrea Radrizzani are not in an ideal situation with Phillips, Raphinha and Bamford.

Speaking to GMS, the transfer insider said: “Obviously, going down is a blow in itself, but if you then end up losing your best players for a fraction of the money that you could probably sell them for in a normal transfer window, it’s not ideal.

“Losing the likes of Raphinha for 25 million rather than 60 million if they stayed in the Premier League would be a big blow to Leeds’ finances. These top players, if you do lose them for quite relatively cheap fees, they’re not easy to replace. To replace them, it’s going to cost money, so it’s a difficult one for Leeds right now.”
