'Big, big things' expected at Arsenal as prediction emerges

Arsenal can achieve “big things” next season if they sign a top striker, according to journalist Paul Brown.

Mikel Arteta’s side are on the verge of returning to the Champions League, but they desperately need a striker if they want to compete on all fronts next term.

While the three sides directly below them managed to take maximum points this weekend, the Gunners’ 2-0 win over Leicester saw them take another giant step towards qualifying for Europe’s elite competition.

Arsenal are three points above Manchester United but have three games in hand on the Red Devils and are in a great position with 12 fixtures remaining.

The Gunners still have the likes of United, Tottenham, Liverpool and Chelsea left to play, but Arteta’s side have won five Premier League matches on the bounce and have room for error heading into the business stage of the campaign.

Alexandre Lacazette sealed the win over Leicester from the penalty spot, but the Frenchman has only found the net four times in the top-flight and is out of contract this summer.

Eddie Nketiah, Arsenal’s other recognised frontman, is also set to become a free agent at the end of the season, which means that Arteta will be looking to bolster his attack with the addition of at least one striker in the summer window.

Arsenal tried to sign Dusan Vlahovic in January, although they ended up losing out to Juventus, but Brown reckons that bringing in another goalscorer ahead of next season could see the Gunners achieve “big things” in 2022-2023.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “I think if they were to find one prolific striker, they could do big, big things next season.”
