Best moment of 21/22? Maccabi Haifa player 'saved opponent from potential severe injury'

Football is an extremely competitive game.

Professional footballers want to win each and every game and many will do anything possible in order to do so.

Unfortunately, the sport’s competitiveness means players sometimes sustain serious injury.

And Dinamo Tbilisi’s Nodar Kavtaradze came ever so close to suffering a potential serious injury back in July 2021.

Fortunately for him, he was saved by the quick-thinking of an opponent.

On July 29, 2021, Maccabi Haifa welcomed Dinamo Tbilisi to the Sammy Ofer Stadium in Israel for their second qualifying round second leg.

There was a scary moment in the second half when Nodar Kavtaradze collided with Maor Levi.

Both players challenged for a header and Kavtaradze toppled over his opponent. It looked as if he was going to fall to the ground head first.

But Levi was quick to react to the situation, grabbing Kavtaradze and saving him from a possible severe injury.

Kavtaradze then hugged Levi and thanked him to cap off what was a wholesome moment. Watch it below…
