Bents garden centre launches afternoon tea for dogs

Everyone knows how nice the food is at Bents, now those pooches can enjoy the treats too. The garden centre is hosting a VIP Afternoon Tea Paw-ty this weekend giving those furry pals a chance to 'chow down on a posh spread of scrumptious treats'.

Photos of the event, 'fit for a king or a queen', have attracted hundreds of comments on Facebook, from dog lovers eager to take their canine connoisseurs along.

The VIP event, on Sunday, January 28, has been planned to officially launch the Glazebury venue's Scavenger Hunt, which is running from now until March 3. There's also a new Doggy Bakery at the site.

"Imagine a cosy afternoon at our Pet Place Cafe, complete with tiered stands filled to the brim with homemade doggy delights," says Bents. "From Dognuts to Pupcakes, your pup will be treated to up to six lip-smacking goodies, fit for a king or queen."

The scavenger hunt promises 'an adventure that'll make your pup's tail wag like crazy'.

"Get ready for a sensory and exciting trail that'll have both you and your furry friend howling with joy," says the website.

"Here's the lowdown: Book your spot on a day that suits you. Head to our Pet Place and show your order confirmation to a colleague who will give you the first QR code to begin your adventure. Your pup's nose will guide you through the trail following our planted scents. But don't worry, we've got plenty of clues and characters for the younger detectives and less scent-driven explorers to enjoy too."

The hunt lasts between 90 minutes and two hours (approx 5k) and features 12 clues hidden strategically along the route.
