William Saliba will return to Arsenal in the summer however what will happen with the French defender is unknown. Mikel Arteta has a strong centre-back partnership at present and it will be difficult for the former Saint-Etienne starlet to break into the team’s starting eleven.
However, Saliba has amassed a considerable level of appreciation from the Arsenal fan base. Since his £27 million move in 2019, the Gunners supporters have longed to see him play competitively. This has consequently led to harsher criticism of Ben White.
White joined Arsenal in 2021 for £50 million and took Saliba’s shirt number. Despite a rocky opening game against Brentford, White has been one of the most consistent performers in Arteta’s side.
Now a full England international and with a World Cup on the horizon this winter, White will not want to give up his place. His performances this season
