Ben Ross's 'series of unfortunate events' led to two-week disappearance in Majorca

British national Benjamin Ross has been found "tired and drained but alive" after his mother, Felix Robinson, made an urgent trip to Majorca to join the search for her son. The 26 year old had gone missing after going through a "series of unfortunate events" that pushed him to the edge.

His ordeal began on July 6 when a thief snatched his bag containing his mobile phone, wallet, and all forms of identification. Ben, who had managed to find himself a job on the island, needed to complete some paperwork to obtain a European work number due to post-Brexit rules.

After sorting the necessary documents, Ben went for an unplanned dip in the sea. It was during this time that his belongings were stolen.

The aspiring barrister faced a daunting task to report the theft, and it wasn't until late at night that he could finally head back to the apartment he shared with friends, reports the Mirror.

Exhausted from walking and overwhelmed by the day's stressful events, Ben arrived at the apartment only to find his friends asleep and unwilling to get up to let him in. Frustrated, Ben broke the lock to enter, which led to a heated dispute with his flatmates.

A statement from Ben's family detailed the strain following the incident: "The following days with his flatmates were tough as tensions about the broken door developed, despite his promising to pay for the damages caused under the extenuating circumstances."

Family friend Carla Speight explained: "Ben had kept in touch with his mum, who on July 10, tried to help him secure access to his online bank account, which proved difficult due to the lack of a mobile phone."
