Ben Kensell insists Hibs won't follow Hearts model as Bill Foley deal gives them an 'edge' over rivals

Ben Kensell reckons Hibs joining Bill Foley's multi-club network will give them the "edge" of Hearts and other Premiership rivals.

The American's Black Knight Group saw their investment in the Easter Road club - thought to be worth £6million - ratified at the Hibees' AGM last month. The Foley cash has been earmarked to improve the club's infrastructure, including upgrades to the stadium and training ground. The Leith club has already benefited in terms of transfers, with Emiliano Marcondes and Nathan Moriah-Welsh joining on loan from Bournemouth, who along with Lorient, make up the Black Knight trio.

And being part of that collection of clubs will give Hibs a leg up, according to CEO Kensell. He rejected suggestions that Foley could act in a similar way to Jambos benefactor James Anderson, who supplements monthly Foundation of Hearts income with top up donations of his own. "It's more than a couple of million," he said. "Hearts have their own model and I have no issues with their model whatsoever, every club does things differently.

"This is our way of doing it with the support and investment of the Gordon family and now the support, investment and partnership of the Black Knight Football Group. I don't have a question on any other club, they do things the way they want to do things and we will do what we want to do - but we still have to remain competitive in this unbelievably competitive league.

"I don't know Hearts. I know their business model, but I don't care for Hearts, I don't think about them as a business, I only think about Hibs.
