Ben Doak in thick of Liverpool bust-up as he stars in UEFA Youth League win over Porto

Ben Doak was involved in a post-match rammy after he starred for Liverpool in their win over Porto in the UEFA Youth League tonight.

The former Celtic youth star played in Liverpool's penalty shootout win over the Portuguese outfit to reach the quarter-final of the cup where they will play Sporting Lisbon. The Merseyside club went 1-0 down in the first-half, however Doak's shot in the second half when he cut in from his wing was not cleared by Porto which allowed Melkamu Frauendorf to equalise. Doak created another chance in the half when he fizzed a ball across the face of goal. Unfortunately for Liverpool no player was able to get on the end of it.

The game eventually went to a penalty shootout where Liverpool's under-19s went through 6-5. Following the shootout both sets of players were involved in a bust-up with the 17-year-old Scot appearing to have blood on his lip. Doak has not featured in Jurgen Klopp's first team since the FA Cup triumph over Wolverhampton Wanderers in January due to an injury.

He is now back from the medical table and scored two goals and two assists for the under-21s in Saturday’s 7-1 thumping of Leicester City. The Hoops netted around £600,000 in training fees for the youngster when he left last March.
