Ben Doak has Liverpool saying 'oh my god' as Jurgen Klopp cannot hide love for Scotland superstar in waiting

Jurgen Klopp singled out Ben Doak for special praise after the ex-Celtic youngster impressed in Liverpool's first pre-season clash of the summer.

The Reds were 4-2 winners against German second-tier outfit Karlsruher with two late Diogo Jota goals sealing the win after Darwin Nunez and Copy Gakpo's strikes bookmarked the two goals from the hosts. The Anfield side are set to be without captain Jordan Henderson and fellow experienced midfielder Fabinho with Saudi interest swirling but plenty of younger stars were given a chance to shine, with Doak impressing the boss.

Still only 17 years old, the Scotland under-21 international was given the second half to impress the coaches and put on a show for the 34,000-strong crowd in Germany. With the stats showing that no one in a Liverpool jersey attempted or completed more dribbles than Doak yesterday, it's clear to see why Klopp with so enthusiastic in his praise.

Klopp said “Ben Doak, oh my God, it’s much fun to watch these kids. Calum I’ve known him only nine days, he was injured before and now he was there. Koumas came on, Conor Bradley really good.

“The kids are really good and the others are really good already, we know that. Some of them might need to get through little holes here and then now because it’s really tough for them of course.”
