Belgium striker Lukaku ruled out of Republic of Ireland game

Belgium striker Romelu Lukaku has been ruled out of Saturday's friendly with the Republic of Ireland in the Aviva Stadium.

The Roma striker has a groin issue so will sit out the game with a view to being available to feature against England.

In a short statement the Belgian FA said: "Romelu Lukaku is not fit for the game against the Republic of Ireland due to a slightly overloaded groin.

"He left the camp but will travel with the team on Friday to the Republic of Ireland and England."

He joins Kevin De Bruyne on the sidelines for the game who was ruled out last week.

Arsenal striker Leandro Trossard is one of a number of attacking options for Belgium still remaining.

Liam Scales and Troy Parrott are both out of the Republic of Ireland's upcoming friendlies.
