Belgian GP: Guenther Steiner confirms both Haas cars to run with upgrade package
Haas team boss Guenther Steiner has confirmed both Kevin Magnussen and Mick Schumacher will run with upgrades on their cars this weekend at the Belgian Grand Prix.
Formula 1 returns this weekend after the summer break, with Spa playing host to the latest round of the world championship and, with it kicking off the second part of the campaign, it’s a race that every team will be eager to do well in as they attempt to build momentum for the final push towards Abu Dhabi.
Haas, of course, are looking to build on what was a solid enough start to the campaign with both Magnussen and Schumacher scoring points along the way, and an upgraded package for Spa should allow them to both show increased performance.
Speaking ahead of the race weekend, then, Steiner revealed that both cars will now have the upgraded package, with only Magnussen running it before the summer break at the Hungarian Grand Prix.
“Yes, both cars will have the upgrade package,” he said.
“We had one kit ready before the shutdown so we said we’ll put it on one car to collect some data so when we’re back, we have that data and now we can already work on the set-up, getting out in Spa straightaway.”
Positive news for both drivers heading into the weekend, as F1 makes its latest welcome return to the famous Spa-Francorchamps circuit.
